Heimolen Crematorium, Sint Niklaas, Belgium

AUDAC design column speakers AXIR were installed in the crematorium Heimolen in Sint-Niklaas. The crematorium is the seventh crematorium in Belgium and is one of the newest and logically the most modern crematoria in Belgium. In the beginning of the month October 2007 the first funeral took place and at the end of the month it already won the International Funeral Award.

The complex encloses a great hall which gives room for groups up to 300 people. There is also a smaller auditorium for smaller groups. Besides that the building has a reception hall and a small cafeter. The total project costs about 8,5 million euro.

AUDAC installed a computer controlled sound system in the whole building but on each sidewall of the great auditorium they installed the new two meter large AXIR. The AXIR is one of AUDACs newest column speakers. Thanks to the 12 2" speakers, that each provide a maximum of 20 watt, the AXIR delivers a magnificent high-quality sound perfectly suitable for large rooms like auditoria, churches,...

Manager Kris Coenegrachts explains: "It is very important to us to create a peaceful and serene atmosphere during the ceremony. So we needed a sound installation of which the quality of the sound did not decrease when the volume is low. And of course it had to fit well in our modern building. That's why we have chosen for AUDAC".
